R-21EC on Pamlico Sound?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Tugnuts. I've joined because I'm thinking of buying an R-21EC for use (mostly) in eastern N.C., primarily on Pamlico Sound, and the Neuse and Pamlico Rivers. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced the Pamlico in an R-21, particularly during any of our frequent summer thunderstorms when the shallow water gets roughed up good by the wind. My only real concern is the low freeboard of the rear of the boat and how much water might be taken over the sides and stern if I were caught out in a squall. Has anyone here experienced this?

You might want to send a private message to Tug Nuts member "amacmillan" and ask him. He has a R-21EC home ported in Washington, NC which is on the Pamlico River.
