Wrapped up my new shelf for the cave in my R-23. The primary function is to store my butane stove (HUGE upgrade from an alcohol stove). Held in place by 1/8” aluminum plate on bottom and an extension of the seat bolts on top through wood.

That looks great. I’m glad to here that I’m not the only one who is less than impressed with the stock alcohol stove.

Looks great and adds functionality as well. Good job.

Following @Hamster’s lead, I made this same shelf. It is perfect for storing the butane stove and fuel, and makes great use of an otherwise unused space.

Great use of space for storage. Only caution I would throw out is that you are storing propane in an enclosed space. Should a propane leak develop it could be serious. It may be prudent to store the propane outside the cabin in a ventilated area?

Stay safe.

Excellent work…and easy to fetch out!

For that propane bottle, suggest the anchor locker. Tons of space in there …I use it to store gallon cans of gas for the outboard and genset. Note that the locker vents down and out, just what’s required for propane.

That had never occurred to me. Great idea!
