I just towed Sea Holli back from Pocket Yachts, where they did the engine pod bulge pump warranty upgrade. I'm very impressed with the workmanship. The pump is as far down in the notch at the very bottom of the pod. Looks like it should remove 95+% of any water that enters. They also replaced the inspection hatch with an Armstrong hatch. While it was there I had them do the 100 hrs service on the Yamaha, and winterize the boat for me. They also reprogramed the Garmin and the Yamaha panel to show fuel remaining, I now have a gas gauge! I forgot to fill up the tank on the way home, now I'll have to do the 5 gal jerry cans. At least I have two, I'm thinking 3 trips...maybe 4...

Hey Tony,

What do you mean they reprogrammed the Garmin to show fuel remaining? Do you mean got it to show on the side bar or something else? Mine has always had the capability and it is data from the Yamaha to the Garmin. Just wondering if I'm missing something.

My Yamaha panel didn't show fuel, least I never found it. Now it has a bar graph fuel gauge. The Garmin did show fuel, but only if I updated when fuel was added. Now they both work like a fuel gauge in a car, fill it up, and the tank will read full on both without input. The Garmin shows a percent remaining as well, I don't recall if the percent displayed before. Right now it shows 61% remaining.
On the Garmin, I have to change screens to see fuel. I'm thinking there is a way to add fuel to the side bar, much like volts can be added. I just returned home yesterday and haven't had much time to snoop around in the Garmin.
(I haven't filled the tank because I was towing the boat and didn't want the extra weight. Then I forgot to top her off before I parked her.)
