Just replaced my forward bilge on our 2019 as it wasn't cycling every 2.5 minutes. It works when I operate it manually with the helm switch. Now it's all operational as intended.
The next issue is the rear motor pod bilge. Never noticed if it ever operated every 2.5 minutes. I would always turn it on manually with the switch when hooking up to shore power at the end of day on the water. It is the same pump as the other 2 and all three wires are being used. After trouble shooting it with a meter, a possible replacement is needed if I want the 2.5 min cycle. I thinking this area is not as critical as the main bilge area and I could still operate it manually with no real concerns. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Also noticed the Sea Strainer Cover has some fatigue cracks inside. Will be replacing it before it becomes a problem. I always removed the water from the system ever winter and find it strange that it's cracking after a few seasons.

Thanks
Bruce

I too have to replace the forward pump since it only comes on manually. The aft pump seems to be functioning properly at this time cycling for 1/2 a second about every 90 seconds. I removed the bilge pump from the engine pod after experiencing pump failures and replaced the original access port on the pod with a waterproof one as recommended by the factory. I also sealed the bilge discharge exit on the pod so there’s not an issue with water intrusion when waves come over the engine pod. After being out several days when we returned to the marina and I had maybe a quart of water in the pod and I can live with that. I haven’t tried sealing the control tubes on the pod because I think the flexing would keep any material from sealing well.
Cheers,
Karl

Hello Bruce, Captain Steve here. The pod pump operates manually only, it is not an automatic nor does it cycle every 2.5 minutes. As for the strainer, it may have cracked due to over-tightening.. if you would like a replacement give our parts dept a call or text via our web page.

Hope all is well! I'll be at Mosquito Creek Jan 26-27 maybe see you there. I can bring the strainer if we have stock.

Cheers,
Steve

Interesting. My pod bilge pump does cycle every 2.5 min. My last test was when I winterized. Poured a gallon of antifreeze in, waited. It stared a minute later and pumped the antifreeze through.

Here is the wiring diagram from the manufacturer of the pumps.
The one installed has been wired for automatic operation. If not then a 2 wire standard pump would be sufficient. Once again I'm thinking this area is not as crucial as the main bilge area and using the manual operation is ok. Next time I have to change a Pump, I will install quick connectors to make the install easier and prevent the boat wiring from getting shorter over time.
