Has any one removed the floor in the cave in a R-25 classic? I am guessing that it has to be cut to remove it. Not sure what is underneath other than stringers. If you did remove the floor what was your method?

Thanks

Frank

Just curious why you want to remove the floor. I have wondered about that myself. A few more inches of height would make it a more usable space.

I took the pad out and replaced it with carpet, got a few more inches of height and felt better not storing things on the pad.

I don't think you would would gain any depth as there is a stringer that runs down to the engine room. The floor sits on it...

Ditto. Just the extra few inches makes for a lot more volume. The dog's bed goes in there along with tools, spare parts, folding chairs, kayak paddles, etc. Carpet helps deaden engine noise and keeps things from sliding around.
