What's the best sleeping configuration for 4 adults on the R-25 for an extended 14 day adventure on the waters ?

For sure, 2 people in V-berth, but unsure the lowered dinette table would sleep two adults, so where would the 4th adult person sleep ?

The cave would be needed for peoples gear etc so how would that be used as a sleeping quarter ?

Anyone done this for an extended period on the R-25 ?

Thanks... 🙂

We did 2 adults and 2 6'4'' kids plus one guitar for 22 days.

Daytime the table was up and the cave was loaded

Night time, Table down,Teri and I in the V berth, one kid on the table, one kid in the cave, one guitar in the head, junk from the cave put under the table.

Had a blast.

Hi Barry,

We had our adult daughter aboard for a week. Cave was loaded, so we used the dinette. As previously stated, down at night, up during the day. I think it would be a bit tight for two adults though unless they were small people and friendly. Consider clearing out the cave for nighttime. Maybe load up the table or cockpit while sleeping.

When we had an adult couple as guests last summer, we put them up in a hotel in Anacortes and at the Rosario Resort going out for day trips around the San Juans. Another consideration maybe to camp. There are fine camping facilities at most of the Washington State Marine Parks and the Provincial Parks in Canada. A combination of some nights on the boat and some nights ashore could give you some elbow room.

Good Luck with your plans.

Thanks for those quick responses. You both have given me hope that the R-25 can accommodate 4 adults for sleeping. I do like the idea of mixing it up with some stays in hotels and camping. The mix up of sleeping arrangements actually will make it more fun and varied. Great suggestions.... thanks. 🙂

A bigger boat.
As I say for our R-27 Cocktails for 6, dinner for 4 and sleeping for two. All kidding aside I found the issue isn't really the sleeping, it is the extra clothes and toiletries. We had my daughter for three days and that was enough for us. You may want to find marinas that have sleeping arrangements nearby in case you find it a bit too cramped and need a break from one another.

Air mattress in the cockpit?
