R-29 Dinette Pedestal

Well here is another dumb question from Ladybug, Too. We have never lowered the dinette pedestal and either it is stuck or most likely I haven't got a clue how to do it.

If it is the same as my R-27 release the two lever clamps on the pedestal under the table. You do have to apply a fair amount of even pressure downward to get it started. I sometimes have to jiggle it somewhat to get it started, but once it starts going down it is easy.

Previous advice right on. Adding this: make sure your downward pressure is directly above the pedestal. You should be good to go. Best, Gary

I have to put all my weight on it to make it go down. When it gets close I climb on it to complete the lowering. Watch you have it lined up with the channels in the seats as it's a snug fit As well I twist it back and forth a bit. It doesn't pop right back up for me either needs help.

Mine also. I was thinking of spraying a little silicone lube on the tube and wiping most of it off.

I would rather have to play with it and push hard to get it down rather than have it go down on its own, hence I have not used a lubricant on the piston.

Thanks all! It did take quite a bit of pressure and I did have to get on it to seat it. I was thinking of some dry lube spray I have with Teflon but I don't want it to drop while I am eating. I did have to loosen the top clamp a bit.

Having had a pedestal where the piston inside failed, I recommend leaving lube off and it be as difficult to drop as possible
