A few new items, in their first iteration, were introduced at TrawlerFest in Anacortes last week. Here are some early pictures which appeared on Ranger Tugs Facebook page:

The R-29S Flybridge
The R-31 Sedan w/Hardtop

Not sure when either feature will go into production.

Cheers,

Bruce

We were there and loved the new 29S. In fact we traded on our 27 for the new 29 tug.

I'm surprised people aren't more excited about the R-29 Flybridge. If we ever grow out of our 25 I think that would be our boat! Looking forward to more pictures and seeing the design develop...

We were at the show and it was our first introduction to Ranger Tugs. They are very appealing. In multiple trips through each, we found that we would struggle choosing between them - they both have great, but slightly different features and layouts. One question I have is why would there be large indentations in the hardtop? Side entry headroom?

If you mean the cutouts, that is the most common point of entry on our R-31. Without the cutouts it would be a more difficult hunched over entry.

Yes - cutouts. Thanks for the clarification. It will be interesting to see how people engineer cockpit enclosures around these.

The cutouts are so tall people do not hit their heads when entering. I do not know why they do this this. They do not put step stools for us normal sized people to see over the helm. 😀

Joking aside I really like the command bridge on the new 29S, it looks like it just belongs there. I was very impressed with this boat, it is very live able. The Berth is well done and the head shower seems like it will function nicely. The cabin felt more roomy or wider than our 31. It appears that this command bridge could also work on the 31. I see that the radar is down low on the 31 also, maybe in prep for doing that. I would like to see a radar arch which could be foldable moving the radar back up.

I think Ranger Tugs has a couple of winners with the new 29 and 31.
