R-31 Transducer

Trying to locate transducer on my 2021 R-31 to check fluid - not getting a depth reading. Have checked inside visible hull and cannot locate. Guidance appreciated.

It's aft and to starboard. You will need to open the aft lazarette / bench seat, and you will see a black thing that looks like a slightly oversized hocky puck with a wire coming out of it, glassed to your hull about a foot or two forward of the aft bulkhead.

If you have a generator on the shelf back there, I can imagine it is slightly harder to get to...

Thanks for the prompt response. Previously searched that area but went back again and did not find. Even used phone to video areas out of direct sight

Hi. Same boat, same problem. Many times you can “force” the depth sounder to read by going into the fish finder function on your Garmin helm display. If that doesn’t work then you can check your fluid level in the transducer cup when you find it. Mine is located exactly as described above. But I bet you’ll be able to get a reading by just using the fish finder mode. Hope this helps!

On my boat it's under the stove - open the fresh water tank lid next to the stove and look forward of the water tank, it's there.

I was unable to locate in aft areas. Activating fish-eye did not resolve. Next trip to lake I will look forward of water tank. Thanks to all for your willingness to help. Will let you know.

I’m sorry, I should have been more specific. From your Garmin Home Screen at your main helm, if you tap the Sonar menu on the right and then select Traditional, it forces a re-read of your depth finder. This trick has worked for me several times when I have had this issue.

Mine is located directly below refrigerator. O-ring appeared to be damaged during installation. It was stretched approximately an inch in diameter and partially out of its insert. Most of fluid had leaked out.
