Me Too, Me Too
I have an 2003 R21 "Classic" too. I would happily contribute to the R21 Classic Owners Manual Pledge Drive. In fact if a Classic owner will send me a photo copy, I will make a pdf and post it(assuming Ranger has no objections). I downloaded the EC manual and have gained some info from that. There are, however quite a few differences. A partial list:
-Electrical system is completely different
-Off 1.Both.2 switch-ology, Alternator, Voltage regulator
-Fuel system, including fuel tank location
-My boat has the 27 hp Yanmar which is a different dash number from the current
-Bilge pump
-EC exhaust is now on the starboard side, Classic at the back.
-I suspect the steering is different but can't confirm that
The boat is brand new to me and is not yet located where I live, so I have had not had the time to climb over it like I want. This is my first power boat, inboard, etc., so what I don't know about the boat is staggering. Like you I have gotten some good info from the previous owner, but we have never met, much less spent any time looking at the boat together.
Bob and Brenda, I did Forrest Gump my way to the cooling water inlet seacock. On my boat it is under the fuel tank. You simply remove the fuel tank to get at it. My boat has no charger and will be kept in a slip. After talking to some other members of this site and reading some previous posts, I think I will move the batteries to the back locker and install the charger at the same time. This will making inspecting at the stufffing box and accessing the seacock much easier.
My wife and I love the boat and for the 3 times we have used it really enjoy going nowhere fast.
