Hi, my wife and I are very interested in the R21-EC, but since we're both tall, are concerned about the ceiling height in the pilothouse and the length of the berth. Could I get the numbers on those?

Thanks,
Dan

Dan .. I don't have those numbers but about 3 years ago, I looked at a Classic that had been brought up to Canada from Utah, that the factory appears to have done a custom height cabin for the buyer .. Rob

Dan,
We have a 2009 21EC. These measurements are from today. I needed to go check on things. First mate is 5' 9" (69"), I'm 6'1" (73"). Entrance doorway height is 64". Be mindful to duck a little upon entering. I didn't last year, enough said. Good thing I keep superglue on the boat. Closes lacerations as well as dermabond. Cabin height is 74" give or take a 1/4 inch. No problems there. V-berth length is 78" total measured from the chain locker opening. Maximum width of the V-berth, with the side cushions in place, is 53" tapering down from there. We've never had any issues with the bed size but we are cuddlers. Getting in and out of the V-berth in the middle of the night to get to the head can be interesting. We've got it down to a fine choreographed movement. Overall, we do just fine.

Cheers,

Karl and Sara

Along with karl and Sara post, I would like to add that if you are not a kuddler, you will learn very quickly to become one, especially if you sleep under the helm and need to get out of the bed. We remove the cushions on both side to provide more room for our shoulders and I put my carry bag at the end of the bed and use the cushions to put my pillow on it, it leaves more room for the feet. We love sleeping on the tug!

The cockpit on either side of the engine box has even more room for feet. ...especially nice if the cockpit has a full enclosure such that it's kind of like a tent on the water.
