R21 EC Mast

Hi,
Every time I leave my covered slip I need to raise the mast on my R21 EC and prior to entering my slip i need to lower the mast to clear the entrance to the slip. Therefore, I would like to know any tips or tricks for one person to safely raise and lower the mast. Also, the mast is equipped with radar and hailer.

The radar and hailer add some heft....no special tricks or tips....just practice and get a routine....biggest thing is not dropping the locking knobs in the drink...you might want to pick up a couple spares.....don't ask why I suggest that....

On that topic, I took the cap off of a can of white spray paint, drilled four 5/16' holes in the bottom as not to collect rainwater, and stuck it on the top next to the mast - makes for a dandy knob keeper.
