My first mate is going to abandon ship if I don't come up with a more comfortable seat for her. Has anyone found or invented something, ( other than an R29) that could replace the seat that sits on top of the stove and sink. Thanks.

Dave

Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas have a huge selection of seats that would probably fit the bill

The pilot seat looks pretty cushy though...let her drive? 🙂

On my R-21 classic, both the pilot and co-pilot get to sit on what is basically a plank 🙁 . I now always leave mine folded away and instead use 2 folding barstools that I found at Bed Bath and Beyond for about $25 ea.... they're very stable, can be used elsewhere on the boat or shore and are much more comfortable (perhaps due to all my years of practise, with my keester parked on similar seats in their natural habitat).

Since I just bought new R21EC, I probably don't have enough time in the saddle to form an opinion. I did like the thought of letting Debbie drive, while I nap in the cockpit... I wonder if that makes me an Admiral?

So far, my mate has not complained. Although, on really long trips she usually rides in the cockpit.

I would like to find a better cushion for the back in the cockpit - maybe something more rigid.
