.. I know that outboard brackets have been discussed but a search didn't reveal much except that some swim grids had been used for mounting smaller 2-5 hp engines.. has anyone experience with installing a bracket for a 9.9 long shaft or a small fabricated pod to handle an outboard ? I have a 2005 R21 Classic and I'm investigating this installation Thanks for any info ahead of time .. Rob
 
Yes, same people that make up the stainless parts for our tugs (in Canada anyways). They are in Vernon, BC.
 
. that doesn't look strong enough for the weight and thrust of a 9.9.. the boat never came with a swim grid ( which I'm not considering) ... I'm considering either a pod extension that stays on the stern of the tug, with a power tilt engine and remote steering .. or an off the shelf motor bracket .. I'm thinking that with the shape of the tug stern, both the bracket and the motor will have to be adjustable to some degree .. theres a Garllick mount out there ( pricey) that uses a manual hydraulic jack ( picture a car jack ) to raise and lower the height of the mounting plate .. at the moment I'm just looking for someone that has actually used the 9.9 as an auxiliary motor .

Yes, this option assumes you have a swimstep. It is pretty stout so I would think it would handle a 9.9hp but I don't have experience beyond my 6 hp. I have see another tug photo with it mounted under the swim step instead of on top. That would create less of a trip hazard but I also think it would drag at high speeds.

I'll try to post it here as well.
