We have a 2001 Ranger "Martini" open launch. It was built on the R21 Classic hull, but with no cabin, all open, sort of like the "African Queen". 2 cylinder Yanmar. Bought it about three months ago and have totally rebuilt/updated most every system in her. (All the way down to the stuffing box/shaft coupler/packing tube).
She came with a 2001 King single axle galv. trailer with a 9' width.
Since the boat sits up rather high on the trailer, it looks like I could use a trailer that has an 8' width which would allow me to back it through my 8' fence gate.
I've reviewed most all the "trailer" threads and was wondering if anyone was using a trailer with the 8' width instead of the 9'.
Thanks, Bob/Bradenton

PS: These boats had no self-draining cockpit so a small bilge pump was responsible for any rain water entering the boat. So, I've added a new 1000 GPH and a new 2200 GPH pump to the boat. The distance between the floor and the hull is very slim. The original pump had a tiny 3/4" pump line between. I figured out a way to use full size 1 1/8" for both pumps with hard PVC pipe "over" a small area of the flooring instead of under. Works great. Thought that I'd pass this along in case anyone wants to see how it's done.
Also added a full size Racor 500 water/fuel separator and all new electrics, faucet and even a pull out shower. Moved larger size G27 batteries to the outside of the engine box so I have access to the stuffing box.
