It appears that the behavior of my wipers has changed and I'm looking for guidance if there is a way to adjust the setting.

I When I first got my R21 from the factory, the behavior of the wipers was that a quick toggle back and forth would move the wiper across the windshield one time, then return to the starting position. However, now as soon as you flip the switch to off, the wiper freezes whever it is and does not return to the starting position. This is pretty problematic with the spray and rain we get here in the PNW.

Thanks,
Marcus

I don't think it is adjustable. There is a problem in the switch, in the wiring between the switch and the wiper motor, or in the contacts in the wiper motor which return the arm to the park position when the switch is turned off. Use Rain-X on your windows and you will not need wipers.

You should have three wires going to each wiper motor. One is the ground and one has twelve volts on it all the time and one goes to the switch that turns the wiper on and off. The park wire is the one that has twelve volts all the time. My guess is that park wire has been interrupted by a bad connection, bad fuse or may have failed internally inside the park part of the motor. It may have a spade connector that has simply put fallen off. Bob Heselberg in Eatonville Wa

Thanks Bob

The fact that this happend right after one of the motors was replaced and that it is affecting all three motors makes me suspect that it may be that bad connection. I will take a look and see if I can track it down.

Thanks!

Well that throws a new curve. The motors have to be set up for where the park is set at. Dont throw the old motor away as you will have to take it apart and set the insides up in the new one to match the other one for where the sweep and park is set at. It will be in the instuctions. I admit some of mine park correctly and others not. I have a early boat that was just after the era of manual non electric wipers and I worked them over and now have a wiper on the center piece of glass as well. The wipers used to be down in one corner of the glass and not in the center. I think your in the right direction.

Eventually, I too was lured into the RainEx Cult and I am surprised by how little I now use the wipers. If you have not yet been seduced, try it. It does take repeated applications throughout the year, but it's nice to have an entire window (instead of just the wiped swath) to see through.
