R21EC Bimini Extension

I am considering adding an extension to the 2/3 factory option bimini that came with our 2015 R21 EC in order to cover the entire cockpit. I see in photos where others have this that the addition would simply zip to the forward section in which we already have the mating zipper in place. What I am wondering is if the aft section can be used alone without the forward section and how is it stowed - what becomes of the supporting struts?

I forgot to mention that the forward stainless strut will simply fall back against the center strut if I am not using the forward part, I wish that I could have taken a picture of this for you, but my tug is in storage for the winter...

I have the full cover ,but I'd rather have a half one for more open deck.

Good morning,

Our bimini can fold back to the stern to open the entire cockpit or be pulled fully open to cover the back 2/3 of the cockpit. I have an additional 1/3 section, that folds up easily if not in use, that slides into a slot on the roof and then zips together with the back 2/3 of the bimini. I can have the entire cockpit open, 2/3 of it covered or the entire cockpit covered. I also have bug screens or clear vinyl panels to zip to the upper part of the bimini to enclose the entire cockpit if necessary. We take the screen panels with us in the summer to zip up as sun screen protectors.
