Has anyone gone to the trouble of determining the actual (real world) fuel and range figures for the 3YM30? And a related question; how is the fuel pickup hose positioned in the 18 gal tank? I find that if I operate with about 4 in. remaining in the tank, the gauge reads Empty most of the time. With all of the sloshing of fuel from end to end, at what point will it begin sucking air? I need to arrive at a realistic value for Range, with all of the real world conditions factored in.

All around fuel burn for approx. 150 hours was 0.67 GPH, if memory serves. I'm cowardly; when the tank is about half full, I refuel. My guess on range is 120 to 140 nm, based on using 16 gal. from the tank (approx. 10% reserve) averaging 5 to 6 knots.
