Last weekend when I went to start up I did not get the normal Oil Press. Light and warning. I have also had that occur on shutdown.
Well cruising without oil pressure warning available did not appeal, so I contacted the people who sold me the boat. They got Andrew involved. Before getting to the fix I want to say how great it is to deal with Lefroy Harbour Resorts ( it is Canadian spelling!) where I bought the boat here in Ontario and Ranger Tugs, particularly Andrew.
It turned out that the connector at the post on the oil pressure sending unit was a bit loose and caused an intermittent signal. Sometimes it was fine and others, no go. Made the connector a little tighter, good snug contact on the post and all is well. Lesson for me, as a neophyte in the world of boat maintenance, is start with the simplest and most basic possible fix and ask for help before moving beyond that.
