Hi Team,
I have a 2020 R23 with a Yamaha 200 Outboard (Hull Identification No. US-FMLT2337L920).

When I put my boat in the water this year the depth finder was not working - giving a depth indication of 1.3 feet on the plotter (never changes).

I researched the topic and followed two lines of enquiry

1. Software settings on the plotter. I seem to think I have these correct and the diagnostic page indicated impedance of 98 ohms. Other items to check?

2. Hardware issue seems to revolve around ensuring the "cup" which holds the transducer is completely full of RV antifreeze. I understand the transducer is a through hull type and should be mounted on the starboard side stern quarter. For the life of me I cannot locate the transducer. Could you please provide specific advice, pictures, etc. as to where it is located.

Is it located under the 2 bow thruster batteries mount?

Thank you in advance.
Steve

thank you for the quick reply.

Is this near the shower bilge then?

Yes the "in-hull" transducer is accessible in the vberth entry (step) by removing the access panel.

1. Confirm that the transducer is transmitting- select Traditional Sonar, Options, Transmit should be selected to "ON"

2. Remove the transducer by removing the 6 small philips screws, add anti-freeze if necessary. It is possible that the base was not properly sealed and the fluid has leaked out so the base may require removal, clean up and re-sealed.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for all your help.

Garmin Depth Finder Transducer located beneath the step leading into the V-Berth (same location as the Shower Bilge Pump)

My issue was lack of fluid (RV Pink Antifreeze). Quick top up, allow spillover. Depth finder now working great.

Much Appreciated.
Cheers
Steve
