I have a swim platform bolt that is causing the bilge pump to activate every 5-10 minutes. Is this something I can fix while it is in the water?
Thanks
Richard

It could be done but not easily. It looks like someone smeared a bunch of caulk around it to slow down the leak. You'll need to remove the bolt, clean all the old caulk up, and then reseal it with something like 4200. If you're somewhere that you can stand at the stern and remove the bolt, then have someone inside slowing the leak down and cleaning it quickly while you redo it, the 4200 will cure underwater. It would sure be a lot easier and less stressful to do it at a boat ramp on a trailer.

That’s the sealer that fluid motion uses from the factory. It’s also on my R21ec.

Are those galvanic isolatpr screws shot right through the transom?!

Exactly. Remove the isolator and send us another picture!

It looks to me like those screws on the galvanic isolator are just screwed into the hull and that's where it's leaking from. It looks like the water is running down the hull onto the bolt with black sealant.

I'm pretty sure when he does that, it's going to leak a lot more from those screw holes.... Best to be ready to put a screw, with its threads covered in 4000 sealant back in those screw holes. Or do the work with the boat out of the water which is probably the better option.
