Trying to access my VHF antenna cable to install an AIS to the splitter and back to the radio. Removed the 8 switch panel and can't get my hand in far enough to touch the antenna connector. Any suggestions on removing the VHF or even a good location for the new AIS.

Thanks
Bruce

You may have to pull the refrigerator to get access.

Just a thought, but instead of installing a splitter for AIS, why not just install an AIS black box that has a splitter built in? Thus reducing the amount of components by one and saving space, complexity and installation time.

Although I have not done this yet, it will be on my 2021/22 winter projects.

Thanks for your help. It does pull straight out. Needed to use a plastic putty knife to work it free. Lots of extra antenna cable. Ended up installing the Em-Trak B954 with built in splitter. Installed it between the 4 gang switch and the steer column which you can access from the panels in the head. Still have to check out the operation and finish setting it up.
