New to me 2016 R23 stored on the hard. Checked on the boat today and have water under the step in the V berth. Not a lot of water but enough to concern me. I pulled the drain plug and it was dry but a few gallons came out of the engine pod drain plug. I live in Washington and we have had quite a bit of rain lately but I can’t figure out how water is getting in to either of these areas. Thanks for reading and appreciate any insight here.

I have a 2020 R23 that has had similar problems. First the easy one, I too get a couple of gallons of water from the drain plug for the swim platform. Even though there is a bilge pump it doesn’t sit right on the bottom so I guess there is some always laying in the bottom. Make sure the access cover is closed tight. I had rain water in the front got the bed wet in the front and the side panels. It laid under the steps and in the front by the bow thruster. Not sure if your boat has this but it was an option on mine to have trailer light installed in the transom in stead of on the trailer. I did not have them installed but it seems they run the harness when they build the boat. It comes out of the anchor locker. They never sealed the hole where the harness runs out. Water would run off the deck when it rained into the where the harness came out and right inside the front cabin. Check to see if you have this harness. Starboard side anchor locker.

Trailer lights are on the trailer by state law, pretty standard in all 50. The connection in the anchor locker permits the lights on the boat to become running lights.
The anchor locker has a drain, a not very good drain. It will plug up, when it does the overflow goes into the V-berth.

So…. I appreciate the responses and thought I would do a quick update. I do have the trailer plug in the anchor locker but it had a good seal and I don’t believe the water was coming from there. I used a water bottle to scoop the water out from around the shower drain box and it seemed to be a little soapy. There was also a little water in the shower drain box itself. I believe it may have ran back down the drain hose as there is no check valve. I also had a towel stored under the sink in the v berth and it was damp. I tried to test the shower pump but it won’t turn on. The two finger method on the float switch did not work. I will look to replace the pump and switch and install a check valve in the discharge hose.
In regards to the engine pod I do not have a bilge in the pod. I don’t believe they came on the 2016
