R25 2008 Approx. 4 ft by 2 inch stainless plate on keel

What is the purpose of the 4ft long plate attached to the bottom of the keel? R25 2008. I noticed a couple of nuts loose on it. Is it just protecting the keel from underwater debris or grounding in shallow water?

I believe it is there for the purpose you stated. If you can access the bolts I would replace them now rather than wait and it gets harder to remove. You may have to use an easy out if the head snaps. They are threaded and I cannot remember the size or thread. You may want to try contacting Rich from Roam. He has the same boat and recently purchased the bolts and should have the sizes.
