While trolling today my R25 (Cummins 130 hp, 10 years old) stalled 3 times. Restarted easily. Trolling at RPM 700. When running at higher RPM no problem. On SmartCraft got a "Low Fuel Pressure" alarm. This has never happened before, but I do not usually troll at 700 RPM for several hours. Can anyone help diagnose the problem?

Did you check the oil level? Very low oil level's can cause this.

Had similar problem. Changed both fuel filters and problem was gone.

I had a similar problem with my R29 and it ended up being a clogged fuel filter even though I was up to date on filter maintenance.

I paid a diesel mechanic to come out and he diagnosed it in minutes. I can’t recall if it was the primary or secondary filter but he replaced them both and all was fine afterwards.

Oil level is fine. I will first try changing the fuel filters. Thanks.

Not sure if your vintage boat has it, but there may also be a screen filter on the fuel pickup in the tank. It is not necessay to have for diesel fuel. It is a pain to remove so after you replace your filters if the problem persists you may want to check that out.

The primary fuel filter (Racor 12T) was a black clogged mess. After changing it it took awhile to bleed the system. But now it works great at idel and trolling speed. Thanks for everyone's advice.
