R25 wont start?

So just had the starter replaced on our Volvo D-150, terrible design to bury a starter like that but that is another story.
Boat did start after replacing the starter but shortly after I went to start her up and there was nothing, no lights would come on at the start button, dead. Then after trying a few times, all of the lights across the face of the throttle started flickering. Only way to stop the lights was to turn off the engine switch.
What is going on here?

Hi Mike,

You would need to provide more info on the replacement of the starter and what is happening when you try to start the engine. One question: it sounds like someone else replaced the starter for you. If so, you should reach out to them to let them know of the problems that you are having to ensure that they installed the new starter properly. You may have issues with a loose power cable connection or a flat battery. The loose cable connection could easily have been a result from the new starter install.
