For winterizing as well as spring setup, the thruster battery is virtually inaccessible. Has anyone considered modifying the floor in the R27 portside cockpit-cabinet to be REMOVABLE for better access (It looks to be directly above the Thruster battery)? If so, you wouldn't have to disconnect BOTH House batteries, unscrew the shelf & move all 185lbs. of batteries aft just to disconnect the thruster battery for winter.
It looks fairly easy to just cut out the aft section of the cabinet floor (replace the cut out piece to sit on a trim-ledge) to access the thruster battery for seasonal storage.
WHY suggest this? Leaving a new (1 yr. old) battery Connected -even over a very mild winter here, STILL killed thruster battery due to some 'unknown' power drain.
