Flying Turtle, R-29 has a starboard porthole that is leaking and dripping. how hard it is to recaulk and fix? any advice or personal experiences before I take it out and recaulk the window? thanks in advance

I have helped others reseal windows and hatches. If the porthole is the same, the seal is a weather strip self adhesive EPDM available at Home Depot. Before I would do anything I would check the rubber gasket where the window closes on the frame if the window is the type that opens. Also, water is a strange beast, where you see it dripping is not necessarily where it is coming in. Check other areas outside and make sure it is not coming from somewhere else and traveling.

Two questions. What year is your R29-S and is it the porthole/hatch in the head?

The porthole is on the starboard side in the main salon. The R-29S is a 2015 model. The leak is clearly coming from the center low point of the porthole. You can see the drip line.
thanks for the question.

thanks for the question.

We also had a leak which appeared to be coming from the starboard porthole and clearly showed a drip line below. Water would end up pooled on the floor under the dinette table. We ended up tracing the leak to one of the solarium glass panels on the roof. This was on a new style R29 S.
