R29S bimini

For those who own the new design R29S, I have a couple of questions. We have a bimini on our R27 and enjoy the shade it provides. Do you find the hardtop on the R29S gives you enough shade? If you've added the bimini on the R29S can you tell if it provides that much more protection from the sun? Has anyone added the aft cockpit shade screen offered as an option from RT? If so does anyone have a photo of the sun shade option, as it is not available on RT's "Build a Boat" ? Any other thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Amazingly, we contacted King Marine Canvas just yesterday about a Bimini for our 2016 R-29S. We were told they are in the process of fabricating the first for the new R-29S. They stated pictures and pricing should be available within a couple weeks. To answer the question does the existing hard top provide adequate shade the answer is no.

Our new 2019 (#30) R29S came without the tan coloured cockpit bimini option. Is it possible to order the bimini from the factory now or, at this point, do we have to get one made by an independent marine canvas supplier? Also, do you have any pictures of biminis fitted to the new 2019? I’m assuming that the forward edge of the bimini for the 2019 R29S is attached to the track screwed around the edge of the fibreglass cockpit cover. I’m especially interested in seeing how the factory option bimini accommodates entry to the cockpit from the dock for a tall person and safe access to the narrow side decks leading to the foredeck.

I’d suggest ordering the Bimini canvas n hardware from the company RT uses. They have all the proper measurements, so you’re not having to have another supplier starting from scratch.
