I'm looking at a 2014 and the surveyor found a soft spot on the starboard side just below the helm station. The rest of the hull is rock solid, but in this section, I can move the hull in a few milleters with only thumb pressure. What could cause this and should I be concerned? I love the boat but don't want to find myself with a major structural repair job.

There is no sound when the hull flexes btw..

Mr. Happy, just wondering what information you found out and if you would share with the rest of us?
Thank you Bob

We hired a fiberglass professional to examine the hull. We had concerns about the area below the lower helm station, above the waterline. It sounded like a delamination when tapped with a plastic hammer.

Pulled the refrigerator, removed the water line to the heater and removed the backing nuts to one of the thru hull fittings in that area.

The results were that the hull was solid. "Ducky", our 42 year pro....gotta love that name.....says that in that area, there is a fairly long run of glass, unsupported on the backside. It sounded like a delam to him at first but he feels strongly that there is no problem.....Onwards by all means!
