I was admiring the R31 Sedan with the hard top on the Ranger Tugs website, and was wondering. How much weight can the hard stand take? Would it be feasible to carry a dinghy up there, assuming a lift, such as the 12 volt Pacer LIft that "Shared Dream" has, would be incorporated? Does the factory still offer the Pacer Lift?

Remember my video from earlier this week? I would be more worried about the weight up there as it affects the CG and rolling rate vs buckling the hardtop or the support stanchions.

Hey there John,

I am working with the engineering group to see what they say about this post and its capacities. I know we did not design it to hold a dinghy but I am looking into alternatives for you. Feel free to reach out to me directly and I will let you know what we might be able to do when we build your new 31. 😀

I think ranger took that in consideration already as the boats have holders for kayaks etc. in the case of the CMD bridge version there is room for more people which definitely would affect CG.

Don't think a dinghy of perhaps 100lbs would have such dramatic effect. But then, I'm not a naval architect.

Just curious, what video from earlier that week would you be referring to? Always like to see educational footage 🙂
