I might have an opportunity to buy an R31 EZ Loader for my C-30. I’m assuming modifications for the bunks will probably have to be made.
Anyone out there with any experience doing or observing this?

Unless you have specs to modify it to, it is a guessing game. Is bow roller in correct place? Will prop and keel clear? After I had my boat for several years, I bought a new trailer for an R29 directly from Ranger Tug for that reason. Ranger said the haul shape for my R29 did not change design. My trailer still had to go back to Ranger for adjustment. Brakes, bearings, tires, corrosion are all concerns on a used trailer, even if it looks great.

Bird Dog, I do have experience with what you are investigating. When I bought my 2016 R-27 in 2018, it came on an EZ Loader twin axle trailer. After close inspection of the boat and trailer interface, ie contact with the bunks, I observed that the boat was not supported correctly. With the trailer serial number, I contacted Fluid Motion who advised me to speak with EZ Loader. I did that and they were very helpful. They identified the trailer being set up for a C-26 or 28 not a R-27. They said it could be modified to fit an R-27. They sent me the construction drawings and with @ a $1,000 of new bunk supports, clamps and bolts/nuts I was able to remove the original bunks and install a new set of bunks. It took my son and I a full day to complete the modifications. Happy to say that the new bunks and supports now support the hull properly. Feel free to DM me if you'd like more details. allanrs74@gmail.com Regards, Bob Allan
