I would like to add a Raymarine Radar Scanner to my 25 ft Ranger Tug and would like to know how the factory routed the cable between the scanner and the display. Thanks Steve

I can speak how it runs on my 2010 25SC which is similar. The cable runs along the starboard side from the helm, behind the fridge. It then goes up the wire chase on the starboard side, comes across under the overhead to about midship then runs forward under the overhead to where it exits through the cabin roof. Pulling out the fridge gives good access, dropping the overhead panels is fairly easy just watch the wiring to the overhead lights. The wood wire chase is held in place by a couple of screws. I had to do all this to run a new GPS antenna wire on my boat a few years ago. You may also be able to go straight up from the helm but you would then see the wire or make up something to conceal it.

Thanks for the info. I don't take delivery of the tug until next week. Wondering if the wire way on starboard side is built into the self behind the fridge? Thanks

I see you have and R-25 classic. Some newer models had the radar mast moved forward, so the routing may be different. I have a 2007, and I believe 2008 was the same, where the mast is further aft. When I installed my radar, I needed to remove the 'smokestack', drill a hole on the forward facing side, and route the cable from behind the Raymarine display, up the starboard side window pillar and into the top overhead storage space above the helm/passenger seat. From there it routed through a hole in the ceiling into the false smokestack and through the drilled hole. It is the same routing used for the anchor light. If you are using a radar dome like mine, you need to unscrew the top, run the cable through the rear of the dome, and screw down the wires in terminal blocks used for the purpose.
