When I got my RT-25 surveyed, one of the notes (based on Garmin 7610xvs) that came out was that "radar image is slightly misaligned over chart image". I went thru the Garmin manuals I downloaded off internet and I do not find any reference on how to solve it. So next step was to email Garmin C/S - first time was 2 months ago, and I just re-tried emailing them and absolutely no response ... zero. Anyone ever dealt with this? (1) is there a written procedure someplace online and I just have not found it, and (2) has anyone ever been able to get a Garmin CS on the phone? Thank you in advance if anyone has had any experience/luck/resource. OBTW: I did not bug Ranger Tugs CS about this because is is a Garmin problem, not RT problem (I think!) Doug

Calibration done via your autopilot control panel by running the Sea Trial Wizard. You will will need a calm day and some open water. The procedure is as follows, with the boat underway in calm conditions and plenty of maneuvering room:

Select Home
Select SETTINGS (Center Button)
Select MY VESSEL from options on right hand side of screen
Select AUTOPILOT INSTALLATION SETUP from options on right hand side of screen
Select WIZARDS from options on right hand side of screen
The wizards are then available as choices. Select SEA TRIAL WIZARD

You will then be given instructions to drive the boat to calibrate the electronic compass.

Also, here is a link to a YouTube Video that explains how the Sea Trial Wizard works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZbUvr2i2rE

I should mention that this issue is related to the Garmin autopilot compass getting out of calibration. This can happen if metallic objects are stored too close the compass. You can check the compass' (Reactor) mounting location for magnetic interference with a handheld compass

From the radar screen select Options > Radar Setup > Installation > Front of Boat
Select Up or Down to adjust the offset , hope this does the trick. Bob
Note: this information can be found in the Garman Radar installation and instructions manual

This is one I've never successfully solved on my C30 CB. I have run all the wizards multiple times, and even done manual alignments of my boat on the screen to the land using the fine heading adjustment, and my radar overlay continues to be off. I've learned to just live with it at this point...

Wow Folks - THANK YOU for quick response!!! Beats heck out of my experience with Garmin
I really appreciate your input. Good news is that I have a separate computer on the boat so I should be able to use the links and print out your notes .... I can hotspot internet on Hood Canal.
THANK YOU AGAIN!! Doug Pau Hana Too
