Have you had any issues with this pump? Our pump does not pump out; when it is turned on you can hear it run, but no waste is being pumped. All feedback would be appreciated. We are going to order a new units and hope this solves the immediate issue.

Have you opened the Y-valve?

My pump failed the same way. Motor running - no pumping. After removal and disassembly, the metal (brass?) insert on the impeller had cracked and the motor was just spinning. It did do some damage to the impeller housing, so rather than rebuild I replaced the whole pump.

Looking at the score marks from the impeller, it appears the impeller was "frozen" to the housing when it spun on the shaft. Most likely from non-use.

Getting the 2" waste hose off the impeller housing was nigh impossible. Ended up cutting and replacing. Expensive hose...

For clarification are you talking about waste going into the holding tank from the toilet or the overboard discharge?
I’ve unfortunately have had experience with both over the years. Let me know.

I had an incident like that. Had started pumping waste with the macerator and, before it was time for the tank to be empty, the pitch of the motor sound changed. I should have switched it off at that point but didn’t. After another minute or so the pump stopped on its own. Not a good sign. I figured the thermal cutoff had disconnected it but worried about having to fix it in the middle of our cruise to Alaska. I just let it cool down for a couple of hours or so and then tried it again. After the rest it worked perfectly and pumped out the rest of the tank. There have been no more problems. While it was resting we were traveling through some pretty rough waters and I actually purposely drove so that the holding tank contents could slosh around quite a bit. My best guess is that there was some solid mass in the bottom of the tank that was blocking the drain. Since then I have tried to periodically fill the holding tank with fresh water and pump it out.
