My wife and I would like to charter a Ranger 29 (or maybe a Nordic 32) next July in the Seattle/Vancouver area. Any leads that you could give me would be appreciated.

Hope everyone has a great holiday.

Cheers,

Jeff Pugh

Jeff,
Mike and Heather have just purchased an R-29 and are putting it into the charter service. See their message below.

Hi all Tugnuts:

We are Heather and Mike and we wanted to introduce ourselves to the Tugnuts community. We have just completed the purchase of the R29 Sporty II that was listed here back in Sept. We will be keeping the boat in Bellingham, under a new name, Tug Time!, and coming up from our home in Sunnyvale, CA. Tug Time! will be going into the charter program at San Juan Charters so it will get some use while we are stuck working down in CA but we hope to get up frequently for week and extended weekend trips. We are sailors/racers (various J boats, Hobie Cats) and this is our first Tug and I wanted to thank all those who post here, it has been a valuable resource.

Hoping to meet some of you in the PNW as we explore a new area. We are actually heading up this weekend to get some time on the water and are looking forward to our first cruise.

Thanks Karma,

I sent an Email to San Juan Charters. They didn't have the Ranger listed yet but we'll see what they say.

Go to http://www.sanjuansailing.com located in Bellingham, WA
They have a Ranger 29 in their Power Boat fleet; nicely equipped new boat. Around $2200 week in high season.

Yes, we did put our "new" 2010 R 29, Tug Time!, into the charter program with San Juan Yachting out of Bellingham WA. We are busy outfitting it for the season but it haas already gotten some charter weeks, open weeks can be view on the San Juan Yachting web site. Our R29 is the smallest motor boat in their fleet. Let me know if there are any questions I can answer.

Happy New Year all!

Just a comment...
Charter is hard on a boat - or anything...

Mike and Heather,

Actually, San Juan Yachting had an R-25 in their charter fleet (smaller than an R-29), for most of 2010. I don't know if those owners will repeat in 2011. Here is a link to Bula, the R-25, on the San Juan website:

Charles, formerly an R-25 owner, possibly a charter client ( I won't be "hard" on your charter, if I do)
