On a whim, I ordered from Amazon a neoprene cover for a vehicle winch with bright yellow RANGER printed on the side, in the hopes that it might act as a cover for my small Dickenson Sea B Q. It fits about as perfectly as I could hope, with drawstring closure. Neoprene seems like it might hold up better than vinyl, and the branding is a bonus. $20 in Canada, $15 in US. (If they realize it has a potential marine application, the price will triple.) I'll put links at the end of this post.
I'm about three weeks away from delivery of my new R21EC from Lefroy Harbour, Ontario. It goes into Canadian Yacht Tops next week for full enclosure. Since it is snowing today and the long range forecast calls for no substantial rise in the temps, the enclosure and the cabin heater may come in handy on the maiden voyage.
As I wait, I've been working my way through the archives; I'm up to about page 700. For those of you who have been posting on this site for a long time, I am experiencing your life in reverse. It's funny to hear someone talking with enthusiasm about a new boat purchase, knowing that two years in the future they will have traded up (or in one case, down and then up). I'm hoping that's not the case with me, but the Tugnuts story is clearly one of twofootitis.
