It's getting that almost every time I go out on Lobo I run into another new Ranger. In the past month I've come across 2 new R-29's in our area. I used to be unique with my R-25 and it's jaunty looks -- now I'm one of a bunch -- and just about the smallest at that.
If you are in this area (US San Juan Islands, Canadian Gulf Islands or West Coast) and you have problems with your Ranger, you might want to contact Steve Phillips at Canoe Cove Manufacturing. 250-656-3915; email

They do fiberglass, painting, electrical, and work with the Ranger factory. Andrew Custis says "I would take my own boat to them for repairs". Can you find a better referral than Andrew?
