Hi Eric,
My wife, Moria and I live in West Chester, PA and have a 2006 R-21 Classic which we launch at Rogues Harbor boat ramp in Elk Neck State Park. This ramp is on the Elk River, on the western shore, just south of the mouth of the Bohemia. Last summer the docks at Rogues Harbor were under going a makeover and were therefore closed. As we had to look for a new location to launch our tug we found Bohemia Vista and launched there a few times. We were told by some of the people we met at Bo-Vista that there was another R-21 at the marina but that it rarely left the slip and that the owners didn't often come to the marina. We cruise this area of the bay almost exclusively and we have never seen this other tug on the water. All of that being said, I am not aware of any members here on TugNuts who fit the profile of the tug at Bo-Vista.
I just have one other thing to add. Without going into great detail or being too disparaging, I will say that our experience during our brief encounter with Bo-Vista Marina was less than stellar. We found the launch fee to be quite high and the fact that they charged to load at the ramp upon returning, to be absurd. They also charged $5.00/night for the privilege of leaving your rig parked in their unsecured parking area if you stayed out on the water for a few nights. We know a Bo-Vista Marina member who had a dual axle trailer stolen from this same parking area. I have a few other things I could say but I will stop there and just make the suggestion that you check out Rogues Harbor as a place to launch your R-21EC. It only costs $11.00 to launch for non-residents, there is no "loading fee" and you can stay out for as many nights as you want with no night parking fee for your rig. The parking area is inside Elk Neck State Park and is regularly patrolled by the Park Rangers. The staff at the State Park office are friendly and we often leave a float plan with them if we are going to be out for more than a night or two. You pay your launch fee at Rogues Harbor at the gate to the ramp during high season and at the honor box at the ramp itself during the off season our when the gate house is not being staffed. If you don't want to leave a float plan at the office they do have an overnight sign out sheet next to the payment honor box, so the Park Rangers will have some clue of your itinerary. If you would like more info ask me here or PM me off list.
