I'd like to install a new thru hull Garmin depth sounder in my 2019 RT 29 S. My boat is being hauled out in Anacortes in early May and i'd like to have someone do the job who is familiar with the boat. Any recommendations?

Thanks

We use Phil at Everett yacht service. Not sure if you have a trailer or not. He recently serviced our R27 and went over and above on the job. He apparently use to work closely with the ranger factory prior to them moving their operations to Kent.

You could ask the dealer (Bellingham Yachts) if they do travel work. I know generally its hard to get them to come down to Seattle but Anacortes is closer.

This also isn't a job for a mechanic. Given the drilling of the thru-hull, and the electrical work, totally different domain of expertise.

You may want to look at some U-Tube videos of transducer installation, even if your paying someone to do the work for you it's nice to know what your paying for! As far as electrical work it's just a matter of removing the old transducer from the back of the GPS and installing the new one. If your installing in the same location as the old one you could pull the new wire with the old one. If the fear of drilling a 2 inch hole in the bottom of your boat has you a little worried I would recommend a fiberglass repair shop in your area to do the work. As noted on prior post I would shy away from the typical marine mechanic to do this type of install. Good luck. Bob

la Conner maritime. - just down the road from Anacortes.

One of the team worked at ranger. plus they have a ton of skilled staff on hand.

Thanks for all the helpful advice. I know Phil in Everett from a previous boat he worked on a lot and I use La Conner Maritime a lot as my boat is in Shelter Bay Marina. I'm at the point/age where I'll have someone else install this new thru hull sounder.

my boat is in shelter bay too! are you the green tug?

yes - Slip I-09.
