Can someone tell me the defference in the R21 2009 and the 2010 models (if any)?

Thanks

I know you are asking in the "ask the factory" section, but I hope you don't mind if I chime in anyway. Factory folks are the final word of course.

I don't believe anything substantive was changed.

There was some talk of the waterline stripe being a slightly grayer color of white, but I'm not sure if that really happened.

The waterline was changed to a creamy light tan. Looks nice.

I didn't see any other changes.

You are all correct. We did not change much in the R21 from 2009-2010. Very small items if any. Oh yeah, we changed the engine from a 30hp Yanmar to a 150 yanmar. Everyone asked if they could go faster in this boat so we figured a little more hp would help. 😉

Obviously that is not a true statement from a member of the factory team 😀

Good one Andrew🙂

You need to save those 150's for the new R23.

About the only thing I can see on my 2010 is the locking strap on the sliding door was changed from a clear plastic strap to black nylon web strap. I made a comment to Mark at the Baltimore Boat Show that I did not think the clear plastic would hold up. Maybe he remembered my comment, or maybe not.
The boot stripe on my boat is a off-white or cream color. I do not remember what the 2009 had.
The refrigerator on my boat has a small freezer section. I may be wrong, but I think the 2009 did not have a freezer section in the refrigerator.
Otherwise, the boats look pretty much the same.

My 2009 R21EC has the black nylon locking strap for the cabin door. Haven't opened the reefer, don't know what is inside. Haven't really used anything in 123 hours, except what is needed to operate the boat, and used the stereo a couple of times (20 minutes total time); used the heater about a half dozen times this past winter when there wasn't enough sunlight to heat the cabin.

I may clean off the annual cover of pine pollen next week. 😉 I'm busy trying out a CS30 this week (sailboat). :?

I'm also waiting for the R23EC, R24EC, R25EC or R26EC. Meanwhile, I've been looking at Albin 30 FC's (Family Cruisers), a desendant of the Swedish Albin 25. 😎

Gene,

I think you are on to something here. Instead of having Ranger design and build four new extended cabin tugs, they could just build one that is all four at the same time.

Call it the R23-R26 EXTENDO-CABIN. Sorta like an accordion. When you want it to be small (mooring fees, fitting into that small slip, etc) it shrinks down to 23 feet. When you need more room (partying with the seagals, etc) it lengthens to 26 feet.

I bet the Livingston design team is working on this already, but you should get a design royalty of something.
