1. ) does the Ranger factory have any trusted shippers who could take a ranger from Seattle area to the great lakes ? We are reluctant to deal with broker boards ( such as Uship ) due to having had problems with them in the past.
2.) Is the 'Ranger factory experience, ' or a Ranger Tug training course available for those who are considering purchase of pre owned Ranger Tugs ?
3.) Is there an owners mechanical seminar available from Volvo on their engines ?

thanks , as we move from the dark side of sailboats closer to the purchase of our 1st Ranger 😛

Answer to #1 is yes. I used their shipper for my R-23 purchase and all went well.

Volvo puts on seminars for owners at the Rendezvous out here in Roche Harbor (WA).

You might try having an owner show you the boat and how to due basic service items. You might be able to find an owner willing to deliver a boat for his cost, fuel, tolls etc. Realistically I did not see the Volvo seminar at Roche Harbor to be all that informative. The other option is to pay an authorized Volvo Penta guy to do a service what him and pick his brain. In my experience I learned a lot more that way.

Before you have the boat shipped I would highly recommend going out to Washington and cruise the waters out there. I wound up towing my boat back and spent the summer out there cruising. It was a great experience. If you decide to go out there PM me and I will put you in touch with a great guy who will give you training on the boat.
