Greetings,

Just thought I'd share our experience in our First ever Christmas boat parade in our new R27 down in Stuart Florida.

We ended up with perfect weather conditions and over 20 boats participating in this years event. The route started in Manatee Pocket and then up the St. Lucie river ending at the downtown docks in Stuart where there was live music and a HUGE crowd awaiting our arrival.

There were tons of other boats out in the river watching the parade as well as on-lookers from the shore at Sandsprit park, Evans Crary bridge and the many residences along the way. The judge's boat was stationed near Evans Crary bridge with cameras sending a live feed to the internet as well as the JumboTron screen downtown at the docks so everyone there could see the whole parade and the "Cheer Factor" as seen by the judges. A GREAT time was had by everyone participating and spectating.

We may not have been the brightest boat, but our "Cheer Factor" put us over the top and we WON First Place! Many thanks to Meridian Marina for hosting the event, our awesome crew with all their Cheer, and my beautiful wife for getting everything in motion.

I'm posting a link to a video from the local news covering the event and I'll attempt a to post a few pics here as well. Meridian Marina is going to be posting more detailed pics of the parade soon on their facebook page so hopefully they got some better pics of us going by the judges booth.

Merry Christmas!!

Oh man, you stacked the jury - I would never stoop to that
(where's a pencil, I gotta scribble this down  )

Congratulations on your win.

Christmas Light parades are a hoot. We did ours this year, fortunately calm conditions between a series of 5 north Pacific Storms. I got a first too -- not so much for my lights but for "independence" -- another way of saying I sailed my own course, circumnavigated the Judges Boat, and asked via VHF if His Honor the Mayor (1 of the judges) had received my gift parcel at his office.

With LED lights and a couple of light inverters I run around 600 lights. If you haven't done this yet, try and find a parade.

Merry Christmas to all.
