Hello 2016 Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats Rendezvous attendee,
The big party is right around the corner and we can’t wait! This email is to inform you of some import event details and to answer some frequently asked questions. Please read through to make sure you don’t miss out on any important information.
1 - The rendezvous has a WESTERN theme this year! The costume contest will take place Saturday night at the hoedown in the tent on the Seaside Lawn. Make sure you round up your best cowboy or cowgirl getup for this party! You can find some fun, reasonably priced decorations and costumes at orientaltrading.com , shindigz.com, or amazon.
2 - Your boat can dress up also! There will be an award for best decorated boat given out during dinner on Saturday. Judges will be walking the docks Saturday afternoon to determine the winners.
3 - Registration opens on the party barges at 10am on Thursday, September 8th. We are currently finalizing the event schedule and will post it on tugnuts and the event registration webpage once it’s been confirmed. The schedule will also be posted at the event and handed out when you register on the dock.
4 - PARTS DESK CHANGE – the parts desk will run a little differently this year. All parts requests must be ordered from parts@rangertugs.com by September 2nd. We will bring all of the completed orders with us. You can pick up your order from the customer service area in the registration tent.
5 - If you plan on eating at McMillians Dining Room during your stay, Roche Harbor has asked that you make your reservations asap. The menu and reservation info can be found here: Roche Harbor Dining - McMillins. Keep in mind that we are serving appetizers at our welcome party on Thursday and that we will be providing dinner on Friday and Saturday night.
6 - There will be a craft/artisan fair on Saturday from 10am – 2pm on the party barges. We have several talented Ranger Tug and Cutwater Boat owners that create beautiful, fun, and handy items that they will have on display and available for purchase during this time. If you make a product that you would like to sell at the fair just show up with your items on Saturday morning.
7 - If you have a dinghy, you may get a lot of use out of it at this year’s rendezvous. Not only will we have the blindfolded dinghy race again, we are hosting both dinners and some of the events in the big tent on the Seaside Lawn. To get to the tent you can either walk, which only takes a few minutes or you can take your dinghy straight across to the dock (photo attached). If you have concerns about making it to the tent due to mobility issues we can arrange a golf cart ride for you from the top of the dock. Just respond to this email with that request.
8 - The USCG AUX will be on site to provide vessel exams on the dock again this year. The exams are scheduled to take place on Saturday. Please email sam@rangertugs.com with your boat name if you intend to have an exam at the rendezvous. You will still need to pick a time slot and sign up when you register at the rendezvous but responding now will help us to make sure that we have enough examiners available on Saturday. Here is some information on Vessel Safety Checks.
9 - You do not need to make moorage reservations with Roche Harbor. We have forwarded the registration list to them and they are creating a dock plan. As you arrive in the harbor hail Roche Harbor Marina on channel 78a with your boat name and model. They will give you your slip assignment. There will be dock hands standing by to help with lines as you approach your slip. After you get tied up the Roche Harbor dock staff will stop by your boat to collect payment for your moorage. Roche Harbor is doing everything that they can to accommodate each special docking request. If there is a medical issue that requires special docking accommodations please reiterate that with them when you radio in.
10 - The Volvo D4/D6 seminar is at 10am and the Volvo D3 seminar is at 1pm on Thursday. You do not need to register for the rendezvous prior to attending the seminars, we can sign you in and give you your welcome bag afterwards. Just head up to the covered area in the parking lot (near the shuttle stop). If you are not familiar with this location please ask a member of our team or the Roche Harbor staff to point you in the correct direction. Please bring your Volvo owners manual, paper, and writing utensil.
We hope you’re having a great summer and we’re very excited to see you!
