Looking to see if anyone else has had a problem w/ their Raptor Decking. We installed it on our 2012 Ranger 29 & in about a year & 1/2 the material has shrunk & curled in some of the corners. The boat has been in Illinois & Florida. When I contacted Raptor they claim it is from the heat & only has a one-year guarantee. One of the reasons I purchased it was it was because it was supposed to be able to be in the sun. When i was at a boat show yesterday, I talked to Sea Deck & another company & they said that they have had a few problems but Sea Deck gives a 3-year warrantee & the other company (forgot the name) give a lifetime warrantee.

Yes, we had the same problem a year or two ago on our C28 with our Raptor Decking after a few days of 95-100 degree heat. It curled and bubbled in many places. We are not the original owner of the boat and Raptor Decking in Seattle said they did not have a record of installing it so, it must have been self-installed; and therefore, case closed. We are making it work now by using double-sided Gorilla Tape to keep it flat in high traffic areas. Will replace with another product someday.

Since I’m very near the ocean, we don’t get very many real hot days. There’s always some days in the 90s but it cools at night. I installed our Raptor Deck about two years ago. While it has not bubbled up anywhere, it definitely has shrunk up. When new, it covered the non-skid perfectly. No longer though. There’s 1/4” - 1/2” of non-skid showing in lots of places.
I had Seadeck installed in my last boat and after four years it still looked the same as when newly installed. The Seadeck is more money, but apparently worth it.

I had raptor install decking throughout our R31 more than 1 year ago and have endured some extremely hot days here in Seattle (95+)....so far not issues at all.

Check with Raptor. We had that as well and they sent us free replacements for the effected pieces. I would show you but the pictures of my salvaged boat dissappeared off the site. The best thing left on the boat was the decking.

I contacted them. They wanted over $800.00 for the replacement pieces. I think I paid about $1200.00 for the complete set a year &1/2 before the problems.

I am curious as to whether their warranty is based on who installed it - boat owner or raptor themselves. Ours was installed by the company and we have not had any issues to date.

I purchase the product directly from Raptor Deck & installed it per their instructions. The product shrank & curled. They say it is from the sun. I bought it to be in the sun!

I've been contemplating this decking but been reading a lot of bad reviews about the curling. Probably look for an alternative.

I thought about this installation seriously too for the past two seasons on an r29CB given how popular it seems to be in these threads. But tbh I never really understood the purpose. The cockpit deck is already a nice cream color and well done, has the non skid and I actually appreciate it when we have guests and coolers dragging about and spills and dogs and bird poop and gear being loaded and unloaded etc so I just never pulled the trigger.

We had nearly all the decks on our R31-CB done by raptor and to date, it has performed flawlessly (they did the install). The true purpose was the comfort on your feet it provides, especially when the admiral is working the anchor in the bow. It is very easy on the knees. Also, gives the boat a distinctive look.

Seadek here a few years ago. It has also help up flawlessly, but was installed by SeaDek rep. The under foot cushion........cannot be understated.

For what it's worth - I believe it is the exact same product sourced from Asia by two different companies - Raptor is locally owned in Ballard and Seadeck is a franchise.
