Raw water pump bolts.

I have a 2015 R27 With a Volvo Penta D4 engine. Can anyone tell me the size of the bolts, (machine screws), that are used to hold the raw water pump on? We are planning a trip to Georgian Bay in Canada and I want some spares.

I checked a couple of the Volvo penta online parts schematics, but they don't give a bolt size. They just list it as a "Hexagon screw" (seems like a bolt to me, but oh well). The part number is 21347624 (for six of them). Not much help.

Are you going to get the impeller kit for your D4? I assume so since replacing it is probably the only reason to need a couple of spare bolts. The kits I've gotten have all had two spare bolts included. Another option is to close the seacock and remove one -- the seal will stay tight with the other five bolts still in place, plus the hose tends to push the cover solidly against the housing. Take the one to a quality hardware store and get a perfect match. That would give you a sure match.

It is a Volvo proprietary thread, and you can't buy a generic replacement from a hardware store as the thread sizing and pitch is proprietary (of course). They come in the impeller kit, which is good because changing the impeller is how I lost one in the bilge never to be seen again. :=D

Every 2015 R27 that I heard of had the Volvo Penta D3 engine in it. Do you have one with a factory installed D4?

Gin, I don’t remember if your d4 is 300 or 320. The Volvo impeller I have purchased does not come with any extra bolts. Purchasing a bolt kit is on my to do list. I wonder how different the bolts are. A Volvo Penta dealer gave me 21951334 for the part number. He didn’t have them in stock but when I search it pops up a a good number at Pacific power.

I found the bolts. Part # 21951330. Cost 20.86 plus 15.00 freight for 3 bolts from Volvo.
What a deal!!!

I got a set locally in Everett this morning. I took them to the boat and they fit. 21951334 Is the part number for a D4 320 2021 engine.

I finally was able to buy the bolts from Volvo. They only cost $35, after freight of $15. Oh. Did I mention that was for 3 bolts? I can buy 25 on Amazon for $10 now that I know the size. The size designation is, M6-1.0x40 mm Sockethead cap screw bolt. Should be readily available at most good hardware stores. Hope this helps someone.

I don't think you have a D4 in a R27. If you do it is rare. You most likely have a D3 200hp. The socket head screws kit is 21951330. I don't know the size thread. M6 X1 or M6 X .75 would be my guess. I never had an issue with these screws. I replaced the impeller once a year and put a small amount of grease on the threads when reinstalling the pump cover and impeller assembly.
