Apparently this is a common problem. Please share your experiences with this issue. Were you able to get repaires.The Approximate cost. Did you upgrade. Is there an upgrade that is plug and play? Without having to buy additional hardware. Our boat is only used on an inland lake. So really don’t need all of the applications like radar. I would rather not invest a lot of money, but I would like to have everything working. Thanks in advance for your input. The boat is a 2007 RT 25 Classic with original equipment.

This guy does C80 repairs (the price in the eBay listing is for the repair, not a new unit):

You can also try your luck on a used C80 on eBay, they tend to cost approximately the same amount as this guy is charging for the repair (and you still risk that it will fail).

Garmin stopped supporting these units many years ago. A guy down the dock from me a few years back had the grey/white screen issue; he ended up scavenging parts and doing the repair himself but watching him go through that I would not recommend it.
