I'd like to re-pack the shaft in my '05 R-21 but, the packing nut and locknut seem to be frozen.
Does anyone have a tried and true way to loosen reluctant packing nuts (short of using C4?... I'd really prefer a non destructive method). I've re-located the fuel tank and batteries so the access is pretty good now, but I'd rather not find out the breaking point of the casting if I don't need to.
