I recently took deliver if a 2017 C28. The first time I hit the bow thruster joystick it blew the main fuse. The stern thruster worked great until then. I can see the bow thruster special fuse blew.

The theory is that maybe to much bottom paint was placed on the impeller, dried and is keeping the impeller from spinning.

2 weeks before on the shake down cruise before bottom paint was applied it worked fine.

Can I orient the boat up against the dock and reach down into the water to see if I can spin the impeller free? Or is it so deep that I need to pull the boat?

Unfortunately you will not be able to do this. If the propeller is stuck or binding, it will require hauling the boat or getting someone to dive on it.

Hope it is something simple!

Some work, but you could remove the motor and then try to turn the prop manually back and forth and perhaps free it up.

Thanks. I found out the person who painted the bottom paint left puddles of paint in the prop area that dried and locked it up.

Thats been reported a few times on this site. I remove the props before painting the tunnels, paint the props then reinstall. A dab of grease on the prop shafts makes the next removal easier.
