Mine sheared!

If you have replaced your rear shear pin I would like to know how easily -- or how difficult -- it was to insert the shear pin into it's proper place. I believe the front and rear pins are identical, but I am having a bit of trouble fitting the rear one, and before I take a hammer to it, I thought I would dig deep into the pit of knowlege -- Tugnuts!

Hi Dave
I have. 29 and have replaced mine twice and I know I had to tap mine in.. Seems to me there should be a notch where it goes in to allow it to lay flat as It doesn't seem to line up perfectly going in .. It didn't take a lot but wasn't going in without a bit of persuasion .

Dave, good afternoon.
Certainly not a friendly task to accomplish. I had to replace our rear pin about 2 years ago, and with a little friendly dad persuasion, i.e. a nice fish lunch for two of our sons to assist, the replacement went fairly easy (for me). I do recall they did have to tap the pin into place as a small segment of the original pin was still lodged in the retaining groove.

Thanks. I'm off to buy a sledge hammer!

Dave
